6 Month Recap

Obviously, I am no more on top of the blog as I am keeping a journal! Here's what has happened since Halloween:

Meredith and the girls came to visit for a few days the week before Thanksgiving. We had a great time with her and the girls! We tried to fit a lot in those few days............

........by the end, we were just so tired!

Sara got engaged a couple of days before Thanksgiving.

Brooktynn and Ryan were able to come for Thanksgiving. We had it at our house for dad's side of the family. When we picked up Ryan and Brooktynn from the airport we got the good news that they were expecting a baby in July! So exciting! But I think my cooking caused a little discomfort for Brooktynn. :( She is not used to all my butter!

Dad had his usual birthday cake.

December brought snow, snow and more snow.

Sara and Jordan made it home before any bad weather. We had our biggest snowfall on Christmas eve. Carlos and Karly almost got stuck in Minnesota, but were able to fly in to Lincoln. We drove to Lincoln to get them. It was a white-knuckle drive, with periods of white-out, but we were glad we all made it home safely. We had a very white Christmas! First time I can remember Christmas being cancelled. The storm was so bad, that we postponed the family get-together until the following week, but by then the kids had to go back to Utah. So we spent Christmas snowed in playing games and watching movies and just visiting.

Our traditional Christmas morning picture....

At the Rosenthal Christmas gathering, they surprised dad and I with a birthday cake because it was a special number.... I didn't think 39 was all that special...

With the holidays over, I could concentrate on the wedding plans. But first, I had to finish the sunporch project that I started before the holidays. I think it turned out fabulous!

The wedding turned out wonderful...
Sara and Spencer and the parents....
Good food....
Daddy's girls...
The cake turned out so pretty...
The entire wedding party...
Our family keeps growing...
For a whole week after the wedding, didn't do anything too productive...unless you count catching up on some neglected genealogy. Once I was able to re-coup, I started back in on my projects. Isaiah helped my tear down the wallpaper in Grandpa's office. I painted all the wood trim white, and the walls are a gray with a subtle green tint. I think it looks pretty.
Hopefully it won't be so long between blogs.... this took all night!!!
